This article is for clinicians who want to have the best possible video consultation experience with their patient. If you are a patient, and want to find out about how you can have the best video consultation experience, then see here.

In this article:

Copy and Share the Joining Link

Setting up confirmations and reminders for video consultations, is the best way to get the joining link to your patients. For information on how to do this, see here.

You can also copy and share the joining link from the Appointments calendar:

1. Click the video consultation that you want to get the joining link for.

2. Scroll down to the bottom of the appointment window, and copy the link in bold.

3. Paste the link into the channel you want (such as an email, or text message).

Best Browsers

It is important to make sure that your browser is always fully up to date before you attempt to have a video consultation. For the best experience, we recommend using Google Chrome browser, but the following browsers are also supported:

  • Mozilla Firefox

  • Safari

  • Microsoft Edge (Chromium based)

On mobile devices, you can have video consultations on the following browsers:

  • Safari (iPhone only)

  • Google Chrome (Android only)

Note: You must give Semble permission to use your camera, microphone, and screen sharing functionality before you can enter a call. Go to your browser settings to enable these permissions. Instructions for Google Chrome can be found here.

Semble will only use your camera, microphone, and screen sharing whilst you are in a call.

Internet Connection

The speed of your internet connection is important for having high quality video calls.

For the highest quality video calls, connect your laptop directly to your router or network port using an Ethernet cable:

If a wired connection is not possible, set up your workstation as close to a WiFi router as possible.

4G connections are possible on mobile devices, but speeds and quality may vary depending on your provider. Connect to WiFi for a more stable connection.

Lighting

Lighting can be an important factor for someone to see you during a video consultation. Sit with a light source either in front of, or directly above you.

Do not sit with a window or light source behind you, as this makes your video appear dark.

Equipment

For the best video experience, it is recommended that you use the following equipment:

  • Headset with Microphone: Headsets often give much clearer audio than internal speakers, and an external microphone will make your voice much clearer

  • External Webcam: Use a HD webcam so that your patient has the best view of you

Note: Make sure to test your headset and external camera before entering a video consultation.
